The College of ACES at the University of Illinois is a campus leader in international engagement. Accordingly, the College of ACES had 41% of its students participate in study abroad in 2006-2007. Furthering ACES global preeminence is the recent addition of the first international board member to the ACES Alumni Association.

The St. Charles Horticulture Research and Demonstration Center, located in northeastern Illinois, is one of many ACES field research stations located throughout the state. The 100 acre site provides incredible research opportunities for ACES faculty as well as hands-on learning experiences for ACES students.

The North American College and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the scholarship of teaching and learning in agricultural, environmental, and life sciences. At NACTA's annual conference this year, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign took away more top honors than any other institution of higher education.

The National Great Rivers Research and Education Center, located at the confluence of the Illinois, Missouri and Mississippi rivers is dedicated to ecological research, education and public engagement. Educational opportunities at Great Rivers include internships that provide hands-on learning experiences for students interested in environmental sciences.

The Jonathan Baldwin Turner (JBT) Scholarship is a merit based scholarship for incoming freshmen in the College of ACES. The scholarship is awarded yearly and following freshmen year, JBT scholarship recipients can have their scholarship renewed upon receipt of a 3.40 (A=4.0) grade point average. The JBT scholarship program is funded entirely by private support.
