Ornamental Grasses Website Bi-lingual

Published: Jul. 2, 2008

URBANA - A University of Illinois Extension website providing information about the increasingly popular ornamental grasses is now available in Spanish. Ornamental Grasses (http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/grasses/) is now accessible to Spanish-speakers at http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/grasses_sp/, said Jane Scherer, U of I Extension urban programs specialist and director of its websites.

Developed by Greg Stack, U of I Extension horticulture educator, the ornamental grasses website focuses on understanding these plants which are increasingly favored by home gardeners.

"Understanding these plants will lead to better use of them and often avoid disappointment or frustration," said Stack.

The site contains sections on basic facts about the plants, how to plant them, care and maintenance, and types of ornamental grasses.
